POINT OF SALE SYSTEM
Happy New Year!! With the New Year, we are finally ready to discontinue the use of the cash register, and start using the POS, Point of Sale System. We have added the quantity counter feature which makes completing your order much quicker.
The best way to use the POS is by leaving a credit card on file with the office and using your unique PIN number which will be assigned to you. Â Your card will be charged at the end of the month. Â This allows you to buy what you want without the worry of having a gift card or credit card handy.
Of course gift cards are perfect for families with children, and members who prefer the convenience of using cash. We have a gift card machine in the club house which dispenses cards in either $10.00 or $20.00 denominations: or if you prefer a different amount, please see the office and we’ll handle that for you as soon as you come by. This works well during Regattas for our YSP families.
The cash register will be used in conjunction with the POS system for major regattas, and events where large groups of people, many of whom are not members, will be attending.
Lastly, like all new technologies, this POS system is not perfect and may on occasion malfunction. The office will be available to assist if that should occur, and we are going to conduct training for our regular bartenders, and more frequent users. Of course training is offered to anyone wishing to learn more about POS system use, and troubleshooting techniques.  Just stop by, and we’ll be happy to give you a demonstration.
If the Pos should malfunction after office hours, please purchase what you need, and leave a note under the office door, and we will rectify it in the morning, and settle your account.
DONATIONS, DONATIONS, DONATIONS
Our furry friends, (squirrels) have begun to eat through our pillows in the living room area. Anyone who has some pillows to donate, we would greatly appreciate it.
With spring just around the corner, many of us are thinking about cleaning out the shed out back. The Squadron has need for tools, regular and power, battery chargers, life jackets, lawn mowing equipment, clean rags, kitchen ware, among other things. If you think you might have something the Squadron could use, please let the office know.
REMINDERS, REMINDERS, REMINDERS
When using one of the Squadron’s power boats, please report any malfunctions to the office when you return the key, so it will be safe for the next member. Also, please note the gas level, and if the boat requires a refill, please volunteer to fill the gas cans.
Please turn off the water after cleaning your boat, and report all leaks to the office. If you notice something not working properly, please let the office know, and if you’re handy, please volunteer to fix it.  And remember to please clean up after yourself, and leave the club ready for the next member to use.
We really appreciate all the work our members do around the club, and I offer special thanks to each of you.  Take a look at the great new counter in the men’s room in the Stonehouse, courtesy of the Ball Buster volunteer group!
VOLUNTEERS, VOLUNTEERS, VOLUNTEERS
It’s that time of year again!! Regatta Season!! The Regatta organizers need volunteers to assist with a variety of activities, and Joanne will be calling many of you and asking you to volunteer over the next couple of months. Signup sheets are posted on the boards outside the bar. For our newer members, and those who did not volunteer their time yet, this is a perfect opportunity to meet fellow members, have some fun, and watch some great racing!!! Hope to see you there!
DUES, DUES, DUES
